Venue Description
Officially named Stadio Giuseppe Meazza but universally known as San Siro, this stadium is a brutalist masterpiece located in the San Siro district of Milan. It is uniquely shared by two of Italy's biggest clubs: AC Milan and Inter Milan. The stadium is instantly recognizable by its eleven cylindrical concrete towers that support the massive red roof girders added for the 1990 World Cup. Its steep stands bring fans close to the pitch, creating an intimidating and electric atmosphere, particularly during the Derby della Madonnina.
Historical Milestones
Opened in 1926, San Siro was owned by AC Milan until it was sold to the city in 1935. Inter Milan became co-tenants in 1947. It has hosted four European Cup finals (1965, 1970, 2001, and 2016).
